Our Senior Pharma Solutions Lead, Raphael Sergent, recently participated in the ISO TC 215 / Working Group 6 (WG6) meeting in Oslo, which focused on standards for medicinal products. Over three days of dynamic discussions, the group made significant progress in shaping the future of pharmaceutical data standards, particularly in areas related to IDMP (Identification of Medicinal Products).
Raphaël highlighted the continued importance of collaboration between industry and regulators, noting that these standards are critical to streamlining global regulatory processes, improving data interoperability, and enabling innovation across the pharmaceutical ecosystem.
The meeting also fostered a valuable exchange of perspectives with SNOMED CT, providing insights into harmonizing terminologies and ontologies to enhance data quality, traceability, and global regulatory alignment.
Looking ahead, Raphaël emphasized that many opportunities remain for driving innovation through standardization, and that ongoing international collaboration will be key to realizing a more connected, data-driven pharmaceutical industry.
